And loved it. Don't know if we can still afford it, but often dream about going back. Venice always seems an impossibility. How can it survive? And will it survive? Ten years ago it seemed so fragile then -- we heard stories that more and more locals were moving out. Life had become just too difficult. ("Try to find a plumber", we were told).
